BU Maseru campus through the Department of Student and Alumni Affairs (SAAD), visited Ministry of Hope Orphanage centre on the 16th December 2019 to provide Christmas gifts to the 28 children who call this place a home. The gifts were in the form of shoes, clothes, sanitary pads and other household consumables. The centre was established in December 2009 and is situated at Katlehong adjacent to Maseru Mall. It currently houses children whose ages range from 3 months to 17 years.
During the hand over, Mrs Mankhole Masisi-Thakhisi, Sr. Manager - Business Development & External Relations gave an overview of the University and highlighted the products and services offered by the University. She further talked about the institutional corporate social responsibility mandate which is to help and uplift communities by giving back. Representing the centre, the Co- founder Mrs. Mamonyane Mohale, expressed gratitude for the working relationship with BU and the gifts the centre received. This initiative by BU demonstrates the dedication and commitment by the staff and students which will go a long way.
